The Constitution of Capital in the 21st Century: From Rules to Discretion?

In this seminar, Professor Matthias Goldmann will present his current book project “The Constitution of Capital”, in which he argues that there has been a paradigm shift, from rules to discretion, in the constitution of capital with obvious challenges for democratic accountability.

Matthias Goldmann is Professor of International Law at the EBS University in Wiesbaden and a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. His main research interests lie in legal approaches to globalization and the law of public finance.
