Stefania Gerevini

Stefania is a medieval and Byzantine art historian. Her research focuses on the nexus between aesthetics and politics, with specific emphasis on artistic interactions, political conflict and public memory in medieval Europe and the broader Mediterranean; and on the politics of (art) historiography. Stefania also has an enduring interest in the materiality of medieval artifacts, and in the conceptualizations and artistic applications of light in medieval Europe.
